Provisional Programs

Undergraduate Preparation Program (UPrep)

The University Preparation Program –UPrep– is a five-week summer orientation for international undergraduate students. The UPrep program prepares incoming students for academic study at Ð԰ɵ¼º½. During the summer program, students receive a comprehensive orientation to Drexel which includes courses in English for academic purposes and cultural activities.

Students cannot directly apply to the University Preparation Program. Students must be referred to the program by the University Admissions Office. Students who are accepted directly into the UPrep program through Ð԰ɵ¼º½ must successfully complete all courses and activities as preparation to start their studies at Drexel.

Graduate Preparation Program (GradPrep)

The Drexel Graduate Preparation program prepares academically qualified students for the challenges of reading, writing, speaking, and listening in the American graduate school environment. This program consists of advanced coursework in academic reading, writing, listening and speaking, as well as graduate academic skills. Upon successful completion of the intensive program, students may matriculate into their graduate program in the following term. Students can enroll in Winter, Spring or Summer Terms. The length of the program is 5 weeks.

Students take 21 hours of class in the three core skills of academic English: Listening/Speaking, Writing/Grammar and Reading/Vocabulary. Workshops on Drexel resources and campus life, regular meetings with the Graduate Preparation advisor, feedback from instructors, and free language tutoring also help students maximize their communication gains.

Admission Requirements

Admission to Drexel Graduate Preparation is by direct application to Ð԰ɵ¼º½ Graduate Admissions only. Master's degree graduate students who qualify academically and need to improve their English language proficiency may be offered provisional admission to study in the Graduate Preparation program.

Admissions Timeline

Students interested in Graduate Preparation are encouraged to submit their documents to Drexel Graduate Admissions as early as possible to allow for the appropriate review.
