At the heart of her course, Sociology of the Environment (SOC/ENSS 244), Amanda McMillan Lequieu, PhD, assigns students a multi-stage case study and guides them through a process that exposes them to the skills needed to analyze research and use that information to make a persuasive case for a potential policy measure.

Climate change — its impact on health and society — continues to shape Associate Professor Ali Kenner’s work and has led to her next project: establishing a monthly climate café at Drexel. It has also influenced the creation of a new course in Experimental Ethnography.

While P. Mohana Shankar, PhD, was teaching differential equations to engineering students back in 2010, he assigned them to solve a standard question. Since the solution to the problem also required explanation and interpretation, Shankar wondered whether students, specifically each student, would learn more if provided with a different question.
